Elizabeth Arden: Pure Finish Mineral Tinted Moisturisor

Tuesday, 30 October 2012

Hey Ladies'

I decided a few weeks ago, that during the colder months, I wanted to stray away from my beloved MAC foundation and opt for a tinted moisturiser instead.
I am head over heels in love with my MAC face & body foundation, it is light and leaves a lovely dewy look to my face, but I decided that with the seasons changing, I wanted to change up my make-up and thought a tinted moisturiser would be a good way to go :)

I shopped around for what seemed like an age trying to find the perfect one, I wanted a moisturiser that would leave my face feeling throroughly moisturised (obvious I know, but some tinted moistursers can feel cakey on the face & that is a big no-go for me) a nice healthy glow & one that also contained SPF, I know the clouds are rolling in but the sun can still send it's harmful rays down you know!

I'd never shopped on the feel unique website before, I'd browsed enough times and added things to my 'basket' but never actually took the plunge and ordered. Well one day, it was my day off work. I was home alone. Bored. NEVER a good combination when you have internet access and a shopping addiction. I was browsing through the Elizabeth Arden products, repurchasing my beloved 8 Hour Cream, when I stumbled across the tinted moisturisor (Link) in the collection I knew I had to give it a try. It retailed at £21.25, which I thought was quite expensive compared to some other brands, but I decided to splurge and seen as feel unique has free international delivery (woop woop for free delivery) I thought why not?!

I wasn't disappointed! It provides just the right amount of coverage and a little goes along way. I picked up the shade 'Fair 01' and it matches my skin tone perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product and will be repurchasing in the very near future.

I'd love to hear whether you ladies have changed up your make-up rountine & how so!

October GlossyBox: Review

Sunday, 28 October 2012
Hey Beauties,

Sorry i've been so quiet on the blogging front recently, I went away for a long weekend with my family, to the yorkshire coast, which I definitely needed! The rain held off luckily, but the wind was on a whole other level. So I rocked the wind-swept look for days, GORGEOUS!

Sisterly Love on the beach :)
Getting creative x

Now, onto the reason for this post!
I recieved my October glossy box, earlier this month and loved the products that were inside. I've used them all a number of times, and enjoyed them all. I think Glossy Box picked really good products to get you through the autumn and winter months.

"A pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with bravura sense of charm and wit"

Firstly, the 'Anatomicals' body scrub. This product claims to smell of pink grapefruit and it really does! I know i've had other products that say they smell of certain fruits ect. and they seriously don't, so I was really pleased when this scrub smelt, like it claimed to :)
I think a body scrub is good for the colder months, as your skin can get quite dry and dull, so a scrub is good for getting rid of all the dry skin and revealing lovely soft fresh skin. Which also smells lovely!! Always a bonus.

"Perfect coverage on first application: a smooth, supple luminous film covering the entire lips"

I thought this Yves Rocher France; Moisurising Cream Lipstick, was the perfect colour for the colder/party months. I already have a red lipstick, from accesorize, but it is quite a matte colour, where as the Yves Rocher, is more glossy and moisturising. I'm a sucker for red lipstick!

I was really pleased with the next two products, as with the change in weather, I have been suffering from breakouts on my chin area. Eek.

"A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes, showing results in 2-3 days. Kind to skin with no side effects"

I've never really heard much about the brand 'Skinetica' but as soon as I saw that it was for breakouts, I knew I had to use it straight away. You apply it every 12 hours to clean skin, and it does sting at first, but for me, that's when I know it must be doing something! :) I have noticed a difference in my skin, and will definitely use this when I notice a breakout occuring.

"Cleanse, tone and moisturise with the day/night 3-step mini kit"

Dermalogica is a brand I have heard quite alot about, I was quite excited when I saw this mini kit in my box. It contains a foaming cleanser, a toner and a moisturiser. The product I was most excited about was definitely the toner, as it was a spray! Many of you may be wondering why I was so excited about using a spray toner, BUT I have never actually had one before, and I felt that it was a nice change. It makes my skin feel really refreshed and clean.

So all in all, I was really pleased with this months Glossy Box, mainly because it was so perfect for the colder months and I felt like they had really thought about which products to put in.

Ta-ra for now :)

Moroccan Argon Oil; Avon: Review

Wednesday, 10 October 2012
Hello Ladies.

This little hair product is something i've heard so much about in the blogging world, and as soon as I saw it on offer in the Avon catalogue for £3.50, I knew I had to snap it up!

The first time I used it, I was in a rush to get ready for work and I think I applied too much product to my roots and it made my hair look quite greasy. Which I wasn't too impressed with, and it put me off using it for a while.

Ever the optomist, I decided to give it another go a few days later and was careful with how much I applied and where I applied the product. With a little more time and patience, I saw what the hype was about!

My hair feels softer & more managable (which is always a bonus) and it adds a gorgeous shine and gloss to my hair.

I would definitely reccomend this product!

I also received a sample sized hair oil, 'Maghrabian Oil' in my september glossy box! Which I WILL review on here when I have managed to use all the products a good few times, therefore giving them a fairer judgement :) I've only used this oil once, and was impressed with the results! Who doesn't love soft sleek hair?!

   Just as I thought..NOBODY.

I hope you're all having a good week so far :)

Beauty Haul; Boots.Superdrug.Primark

Hello!

Just a quick update on some make-up i've bought over the weekend! As it was payday for me on friday & Boots are also having their 3 for 2 offer on all make-up..I thought what better excuse to add some new purchases to my much-to-large collection.

I've been after a new concealer for a while now, and after hearing only positive things about the 'Rimmel: Wake me up foundation', I thought I would give the concealer a go. It retailed in at £5.49, which I thought was quite a bargain!
Rimmel 'Wake me up';Shade:010 Ivory- £5.49
Rimmel 'Lasting Finish by Kate Moss;Shade:101- £5.49
Rimmel 'Stay Matte;Shade:001 Transparent- £3.99
Collection 'Big Fake Ultimate;Shade:1 Black- £2.99 (Introductory Price)

I've heard throughout the blogging/instagram world, that 'Rimmel Stay Matte: long lasting pressed powder' was also a must-have product! I've been eyeing up the MAC skinfinish for some time and never got round to buying it, but people who have purchased the Stay Matte, have said It is a much cheaper version, but just as good! What more could I ask for..this was priced at £3.99, and as it was the cheapest of my 3 products, I got it for free!

For those of you who don't know, I am a velcro rollers virgin! I have quite thick hair and have always been to afraid to go for the 'big hair/cheryl cole look. For the past few years when having my hair cut, I have always had it thinned out aswel. The past few months however, this has all changed (aw can't you tell i'm growing up haha) I love the big curly look, and since I have been growing my hair, and as it is now quite long, I couldn't wait to pick up some rollers!

Viva Glam!

Monday, 1 October 2012
Hey Ladies, I hope you've all had a fabulous weekend!

My boyfriend and I were both on holiday from work last week week and managed to spend plenty of quality time together! We caught the train to Manchester one day, to do some shopping, have a meal and enjoy a few cheeky cocktails :)

I practically ran to selfridges and headed straight to the MAC counter (as you do) and started swatching all the lipsticks. I knew I was looking for a bright pink colour, to add to my ever growing collection!

As soon as I saw this shade, I knew I had to have it! It is out of the 'Viva Glam' collection, and this colour is courtesy of Nicki Minaj.

I LOVE it. My new fav.

I have also ordered my first glossy box! It has been dispatched and should arrive within the next few days. As soon as it does & I have tried and tested the products, I will write a full review :)
