Top 10 Under £10 | Beauty, Skincare & Hair.

Monday, 9 June 2014

I didn't realise how many amazing products there are under £10, until I had to narrow it down for this post! Which is why...there may actually be 12 products i've picked. Oops.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine//£3.99 Link.
This was a fairly easy decision for me, as they are my favourite formula of nail varnish. All the colours are lovely and they last so well. They leave my nails looking so glossy and shiny.

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer//£7.99 Link.
This is my go to primer at the minute, it feels really hydrating on the skin. I always apply this before a night out and my makeup definitely lasts longer. I really enjoy using it as it has a gel-like texture which I haven't seen before in any of my other primers. I have a full review on this here.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation//£8.99 Link.
I have repurchased this foundation so many times! I absolutely love it, it's a perfect drugstore foundation. It's so gorgeous and dewy, it leaves my skin looking really refreshed and radiant.

Topshop Highlighter in Crescent Moon//£10.00 (can't find working link)
I picked this up in London...over a year ago..! It's been a firm favourite ever since. It is such a gorgeous peachy, pink shimmer which blends really easy and looks incredible on the skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder//£3.99 Link.
This is a beauty blogger favourite, it's incredibly cheap yet does an amazing job. I carry this with me everywhere, and would feel lost without it in my bag. It completely mattifies my skin, and really helps to control shine, particularly on my chin.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks//£3.49 Link.
I think everyone and their dog has spoke about these eyeshadows from Rimmel. I own the brown and golden shade of these and they create such a gorgeous smokey eye. They are so easy to just swipe on, blend in and go!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow//£4.99 Link.
I don't know what i'd do without these badboys! They are perfect for when you're in a rush and you just want to do something simple with your eye makeup. I have these in my makeup bag at all times! They look great as a single shade, or as a base for other eyeshadows.

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold//£4.49 Link.
This is my go to Summer blush, it's a gorgeous coral blush with subtle gold flecks in it, which give your face a lovely highlight. I always take this on holiday with me as it's really flattering once you have a nice tan and really brightens your face. It is said to be a cheaper alternative for the Nars Orgasm blush!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer//£6.49 Link.
I picked these up after hearing so many bloggers and vloggers rave about them, and I now have a vast collection. They apply like a gloss, look like a lipstick and last like a lipstain! They are really hydrating on the lips, which is great and gives them a lovely shine.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner//£3.99 Link.
I've used these for AGES now and I love them. I use the black one for at night time, using it to really define the eye area, creating a more dramatic look. The Nude shade is my favourite though! It's great for really brightening up your eye, I use this for work if i'm in early, or if i've had a bad nights sleep.

Superfacialist Tea Flower Pure Purifying Clay Mask//£8.99 Link.
I love love love this mask! It is a complete god send if my skin is being a pain, and the spots are taking over. It really hydrates my face, and dries up any spots. It does have a slight tingling effect, so if you have super sensitive skin I don't think i'd recommend this mask. I have a full review on this product here.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor//£4.99 Link.
I've used this mask for years and I always repurchase it. It's a complete hair essential and I don't know what i'd do without it. I use this with my Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo and it leaves my hair really soft, manageable and super shiny! For £4.99, it's a complete bargain!

Wedding season is definitely on its way! So many of my friends are getting married within the next couple of months and it's so exciting. There are so many gorgeous clothes on the highstreet at the minute, perfect for attending a wedding. Although these outfits are planned around a Summer wedding, I know we don't always get much of the sun in England, so they'd both be great outfits to put maybe a white blazer on over the top.

Are you attending any weddings soon? What will you be wearing?

Home Wishlist #2 | Kitchen

I think the room i'm most excited about designing and decorating is the kitchen! As we are moving into a cottage stoned terrace, we want to keep the whole house quite cottage/contemporary..if that makes sense?

I think in the kitchen we are going to go with white tiled walls, laminate flooring with..either white or really light blue cupboards and wooden worktop. As I said in my living room wishlist (found here) we want to keep the house as bright as possible, using light colours throughout.

Next Home:
I love Next Home so much, I always see things I want when I go in. I don't actually drink tea or coffee, I know shock horror, but Aaron does and so does a lot of my family and I love these glass containers. I like how you can see what's inside them..strange. We already have a glass chopping board but I really like this wooden heart shaped one, I think it will look really nice and cute. Don't need much more of a reason than that to buy it do I? Nope. We are actually having a Farmhouse/Belfast style sink in the kitchen which i'm SOOO excited for. For those of you who don't know what kind that is, it's a ceramic sink, which sits in the worktop but you can see the whole thing..link for a picture here. The picture will explain it better than I can, haha! These sinks don't come with drainers so we are having to buy one that has a tray underneath to catch the water that drains off..derr, obviously, so yeah :) Plus I really like this one from Next, as some we looked at were not very nice looking.

Marks & Spencers Home:
Marks & Spencers isn't really a shop I go into, as I tend to think of it as an 'older person' shop. However, on a recent trip in to get some of their hot cross buns, which my mum claims are the best ones, I thought i'd have a quick browse in the home section and I instantly fell in love with so many different things. Firstly, can we just take a minute to appreciate a STRAWBERRY SLICER, I have never even heard of these existing, am I really late to the party?! It would be so lazy to use one of these, but just..I think I need one, just to have one in my life. Next this slate cake stand, I think it would look so nice on the worktop with lovely fresh, homemade cakes on it. It would also be great for bbqs, to take outside and have on your patio table. I'm gonna be the hostess with the mostess.

What is your must have item in your kitchen? Have you ever heard of a strawberry slicer?!

Summer Skincare Edit.

Monday, 2 June 2014

When I planned this post, the weather had bucked its ideas up and the sun decided to grace us with its presence. As I am writing this post, it's peeing it down but hey ho, I have my bright lipstick and nail varnish on, ready and raring.
In Summer I like to change a few things round in my skincare, opting for lighter products. In Autumn/Winter I like to use thicker, creamier products, e.g. Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and hydrating serums. Which my skin definitely needs in the colder months.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil*//£4.50 (mini version) Link.
I raved about this in yesterdays May Favourites post (here) so I won't go on about it too much. I use this in an evening to remove my makeup, it leaves my skin really soft and with a lovely glow. It literally melts my makeup off, even the toughest of mascaras!

Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean 4-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Cleaning Milk//Old Edition Link.
In the warmer months I like to opt for lighter cleansers, no idea why..and this milk cleanser from Soap & Glory fits the bill perfectly. It does claim to melt away makeup, which I haven't noticed but I use this in my morning routine so I don't really need it too, but i'd bare that in mind if you were going to purchase it. It smells AMAZING, so peachy (with a hint of mint) and fresh. My skin feels so soft after using this and it's really refreshing on my skin.

Burt's Bees Radiance Eye Cream*//£19.99 Link.
To be honest, this product hasn't changed in a good while. I use it all year, no matter what the weather. I absolutely love it, it leaves my eye area feeling so soft and looking really hydrated. I don't really have dark circles so i'm not sure what it would be like getting rid of those, but it definitely helps to de-puff my eyes.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer//£23.00 Link.
I picked this up a couple of months ago after hearing so many people raving about it, and I can understand the hype! It has a gel formula, which is great for Summer. It's really light and refreshing on the skin. It also helps that it smells incredible, really citrusy. Once i've applied it to my skin it leaves a semi-matte, glowing look to my skin. This is my morning staple and my skin loves me for it!

Burt's Bees Radiance Serum*//£19.99 Link.
When the lovely people at Burt's Bees very kindly sent me this, I couldn't wait to try it! As I said before, in Autumn/Winter I am all for hydrating serums, but in the warmer months you can't beat a bit of radiance. I love using this product, my skin feels instantly perked up and radiant. I apply this in the morning and my skin is glowing all day! I only need about 2-3 drops for my whole face which is plenty. It doesn't leave my skin looking oily or with a film, it sinks into the skin really well.

Do you guys change your skincare products when the seasons change? What is your favourite product for Summer?

Monthly Favourites | May

Sunday, 1 June 2014

I know this gets said on every blog, every month..but where the heck has the time gone? It doesn't feel like two minutes ago we were going into May and now it has been & gone! I've been so excited for June as it is the month of my birthday, I go to Crete and we should hopefully be completing on the house EEK EXCITED!

In May I have been loving a whole range of products, from facial oils to toothpaste...there is something for everyone.

Super Facialist Tea Flower Pore Purifying Clay Mask//£8.99 Link
Love love love this face mask! It claims to detox and unclog pores which it definitely does!It also helps to absorb any excess oils, I have quite an oily chin and this mask helps to soak up any oil instantly! I particularly like using this mask when my skin is being a pain and suffering from any spots, it helps to calm my skin down and dry out any blemishes. I have a full rave review of this amazing mask here.

Pearl Drops Pro-White Toothpaste*//£5.25 Link
I am all for using toothpastes which claim to whiten teeth. There's nothing better than white shiny knashers! I use this in a morning and at night, and noticed a difference in my teeth within a day or 2, my teeth looked whiter and shinier. Although the bottle is small, containing only 50ml of product, you only need to use a pea size amount so the bottle lasts a good while. I have a full review of this coming soon so keep your eyes peeled.

La Roche Posay Serozinc//Link
Everyone and his fish has spoke about this skincare favourite, La Roche Posay Serozinc isn't YET available in the UK yet so I actually picked it up whilst in Paris last year. I only picked up one bottle, which I am now seriously regretting. Serozinc is a Sulphate solution formula, which can be sprayed onto a cotton pad and swiped onto the face, or as I do it, spray straight onto my face and then pat it in. I use it after my cleanser but before any serums I am using. It really helps to calm my face down and leaves it really hydrated.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil*//Mini version £4.50 Link
I've always been funny about using oils on my face in fear that it will make my skin really oily and enhance my oily chin, oh how wrong was I! This is the first and only oil i've used so far and I love it. I use this at night to remove my makeup, I just apply a few drops of this to the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and wipe them gently over my face. My makeup literally melts off! It is incredible. It leaves my skin looking and feeling super soft, and definitely doesn't leave it oily.

Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss*//£12 Link
I'm not really a lipgloss person, I used to be but since discovering lipsticks *cue angels singing* i've stayed well away. I believe I got this Model Co lipgloss in a...Company?! magazine a couple of months ago and I really really like it. I have the shade Berry Pink which sums up the colour amazingly. It looks so nice applied onto bare lips, adding a lovely subtle berry shimmer OR paired with a matte lipstick, I particularly like doing this on top of Mac's Snob matte lipstick. I love the colour but sometimes the matte is just too much, especially if my lips are looking quite dry. So I just add a thin layer of the lipgloss and I am good to go. It isn't too tacky either which is a huge bonus.

I hope you all had a lovely month and are excited to see what June will bring! I know I am..

What have you been loving this month?
